NewSpace Brazil (AlianΓ§a das Startups Espaciais Brasileiras – ASB) functions as a national alliance dedicated to uniting, supporting, and representing Brazilian new space startups. The organization promotes development addressing both domestic and international space industry demands.

Member Highlights:

β€’ Airvantis, founded by Lucas Fonseca, proposed Brazil’s first lunar mission (GaratΓ©a-L) in 2015. Their work focuses on collecting microgravity research data and developing numerical tools that simulate space-based experimental conditions on Earth. This innovation brings new possibilities for R&D while opening opportunities to pharmaceutical and consumer-healthcare industries at a fraction of the cost of current space-based research. Airvantis objectives are also aligned with New Space Brazil as it is one of the founders.

β€’ SHAMAL SPACE, aΒ Brazilian space tech company founded by Gilberto Damasceno Jr, focused on satellite services, mission engineering, and advanced ground infrastructure. It specializes in micro and nano satellites, launch solutions, Satellite based Fixed and Mobile Assets monitoring & control, and AI-based geospatial analytics for sectors like Agribusiness, smart cities and environmental monitoring.

Recently, Shamal Space introduced LEPTONSat, its first commercial IoT communications picosatellite, along with a suite of IoT sensors designed for seamless integration with IoT communications satellites operating under the 3GPP NB-NTN protocol. Shamal Space plans to develop its own Sounding and Suborbital launching solutions aimed at commercial applications.

β€’ EMSISTI, the first Brazilian startup to develop communication software system solution for the Brazilian Scientific Nanosatellite Program. One of the main supplier of the Brazilian Government for the Brazilian Scientific Cubesat Development Program. (NANOSATC-BR). Also working on the VLN-AKR,Β a nano-satellite launch vehicle with lead Akaer as well as Acrux Aerospace Technologies and BRENG the latter two also being part of New Space Brazil.

β€’ Legado Usinagem Ltda was responsible for the production of about 80% of the internationally recognized VSB-30 space rocket, as part of the Brazilian Space Program, including the motor envelope, graphite steel nozzles, gates, flanges and connections. Elected the best supplier of 2018 by Instituto de AeronΓ‘utica e EspaΓ§o (Institute of Aeronautics and Space).
